A 10-year-old boy is allegedly booked after he sexually abused a three-year-old girl in Ludhiana’s Shimlapuri.
The accused, held for rape of his infant neighbor, is a student of Class IV.
The cops claimed to have sent the 10-year-old boy to Child Welfare Home.
The investigating officer, SHO Davinder Singh, said the victim’s father, a daily-wage labourer, told the police that his wife and daughter were at home when he went to work on Thursday morning.
In the afternoon, the victim’s mother went outside the house to buy bangles from a vendor, police added.
On getting back home, she found her daughter missing.
She then heard her 3-year-old daughter’s scream from the boy’s room, located opposite their house.
When the lady intruded, accused room was locked from inside and she repeatedly knocked at the door.
The boy opened the door and fled the room.
The medical examination of the victim conducted by the doctors revealed that the boy inserted his fingers into the child’s private parts, police informed.
The Shimlapuri police have registered a case under Section 376 (rape) of the IPC and provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
