To celebrate the 75th Anniversary of Azad Hind Government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the national flag at the Red Fort on Sunday.
Azad Hind Government was inspired and headed by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.
The country’s PM hoists the flag, traditionally, on Independence Day each year on August 15 at the historic fort.
This year, Modi hoisted the Tiranga and showed the plaque to celebrate the anniversary of formation of the government of ‘free India’.
The Azad Hind government was founded by ideals of Subhas Chandra Bose on October 21, 1943.
It was a part of the freedom movement and the Indian National Army (INA) played an important role in donating a much-needed force to the freedom struggle of country.
The PM also laid the foundation stone for a museum dedicated to the Azad Hind Fauj or the Indian National Army.
