All 20 AAP MLAs got disqualified. Achal Kumar Jyoti, Chief Election Commissioner had sent the names of 20 Aam Aadmi Party MLAs to the President on Friday. The names were for recommendation to get them disqualified from the Delhi Legislative Assembly for holding ‘Office of Profit’. Three years ago, AAP came to power in Delhi by winning an overwhelming majority of 67 seats in 70. Delhi cabinet minister-Kailash Gahlot, Chandni Chowk MLA-Alka Lamba, Dwarka’s Adarsh Shastri, Laxmi Nagar MLA Nitin Tyagi, are some big names included in the list of those 20 MLAs who got disqualified. All of them are associated with AAP since the time of Anna Hazare. After the disqualification, AAP’s prominent Poorvanchali leader Sanjeev Jha lost his seat.
