Walking on the footsteps of their ex-leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira, today the Aam Adami Party Punjab officially wrote a letter to Chief Minister of Punjab, Captain Amarinder Singh seeking funds for MLAs.
Aam Aadmi Party leader and Sunam MLA Aman Arora in the letter has demanded 3 crore rupees for MLAs of Punjab from Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh annually.
He wrote a letter to the Chief Minister demanding the annual MLAs of 3 Crore MLA LAND on the pattern of MP LAND.
Arora said that the MP/MLA LAND (Local Area Development Fund) was started by the late Prime Minister of India, PV Narasimha Rao in December 1993 so that MPs and MLAs could get the development work done for their people.
Under this scheme, MPs get Rs.5 crore annually in most of the states and for various projects in different states, from 2 to 4 crore rupees annually, are given.
When almost all the states of India haven’t started this scheme yet, Arvind Kejriwal led government of Delhi, hasn’t even started this amount, but has also increased it from Rs. 4 crore to Rs.19 crore per annum per annum.
“No, I feel helpless and frustrated. Another big question arises here is that why the 1993 Congress government scheme has not been implemented by three Congress governments in Punjab since then?” asked Arora.
