Finally, a sneak peek into Marvel Studios plan of inclusion after filmmaker Joe Russo’s cameo in Avengers: Endgame. A character will be revealed as a gay in an upcoming movie, the director said.
Duo Russo brothers helmed Endgame, and Joe Russo suggested it is a person, fans already know.
At the Entertainment Weekly’s Morning Live, the directors of Endgame revealed the information to hosts Jessica Shaw and Dalton Ross.
When asked about Joe’s small part in the recent blockbuster in which he plays a grieving man in a therapy session whose dealing with the loss of his loved ones after the snap by Thanos’.
Joe said, “It was an integral scene to show how the world was reacting to what happened in at the end of Infinity War.”
The director said, “Yes, openly gay,” when asked if it was the first out gay character in Marvel film.
“There’ve been insinuations about other characters’ sexuality, but this is the first openly gay character,” Joe added.
Tiptoeing to the question of who else was gay, Anthony said, “That’s a story for another day.”
“Two openly gay characters would be revealed,” said Marvel head Kevin Feige in 2018.
Joe Russo said that there is a gay character coming up in one of their films, and he thinks Kevin will make that announcement.
