If the history has taught us anything that is, politics can make the heaven of hell and hell of a heaven, and now Punjab’s politics could probably be the reason behind obliteration of a family.
On the one hand, there is a person who has given a party his whole life and on the other it is a seat which is very important to win for the existence of the very party.
Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa today was in Patiala district’s village Tohra, for Gurcharan Singh Tohra’s death anniversary.
After the formal ceremony, when the veteran Akali was asked to clear about his stance if his son contests at Sangrur seat from Shiromani Akali Dal seat, senior Dhindsa said, “I am having some conflicts with my son at the moment.”
He further cleared that if and when his son contests from the Sangrur seat on SAD ticket, there is no way he is going to campaign for him.
“There is no way, no question of me campaigning for Shiromani Akali Dal, yes, I shall not campaign for any other party too,” claimed ex-senior Akali Leader.
Throwing a veiled jab on Sukhbir Badal, Dhindsa suggested that every president of the party must be elected by the populace, and senior leaders of the party.
“By this way no one would raise even a finger on Akali Dal,” concluded Sukhdev Singh.
It is important to mention here that allegedly due to his differences with the leadership of the party, Dhindsa resigned from all posts provided by SAD after which, Parkash Singh Badal himself intervened in the matter to lure Sukhdev’s son Parminder Singh Dhindsa to contest on his father’s place.
Now, Sukhdev Dhindsa doesn’t want his son to stand from SAD seat but as per sources he does want to become an MP.
It will be interesting to see how this whole matter shapes up in the future.
