A Punjabi Non Resident Indian (NRI) who hailed from Garhshankar has been shot dead in Philippines.
According to initial reports, deceased Sanjiv Kumar was living on the foreign land from previous nine years.
He dropped dead after an unidentified assassin took three shots at him from point blank range which pierced his head.
As per the father of the departed Kumar, Ram Lubhaya, informed the media that his son was collecting money in a market in Manila capital of the country, when the incident took place.
The victim’s family was informed about this assassination by younger brother of Kumar, Gurdip who is also a resident of Philippines.
Lubhaya said Sanjiv was staying in Manila for the past nine years and had gotten married there. He is survived by his wife, a five-year-old daughter and a two-year-old son.
