Shiromani Akali Dal the senior third political front of Punjab politics which just a few months ago, wanted to honor senior lawyer and law maker Harvinder Singh Phoolka, for his role in pushing Sajjan Kumar to jail for killing Sikhs during Sikh genocide, today are against him.
During the third day of budget session of Vidhan Sabha, SAD stormed quarrel while raising slogans and projecting a walkout on a resolution proposed by ex-AAP leader Harvinder Singh Phoolka, which asked Punjab government to write to center government for speeding up the process of SGPC elections.
The party with Badals on top seats, claimed that it is an interference in SGPC and there must not be any political interfering in any religious body.
On the other hand, Navjot Singh Sidhu of Congress talking to media asked, how the SAD has changed their colors in the matter of days, first they wanted to honor him for doing a lot for Sikhs and now they are questioning on the membership of Mr. Phoolka?
When Phoolka was asked to react on the whole thing he replied, ” First of all my resignation hasn’t been accepted by the house so, technically I am still a Member Legislation.”
The social worker turned politician claimed that the Akalis know that they are going to lose the SGPC elections too like the Vidhan Sabha elections of 2017 that’s why they are opposing this resolution.
In the house Phoolka’s resolution was applaud by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and other Congressmen and if the Local Bodies Minister, Navjot Singh Sidhu is to be believed they are going to center government regarding this and SGPC elections shall be contested soon.
