Sikh community in Indian Punjab again made the Sikhs all over the world’s heads hung low due to a fresh clash inside the Guru-Ghar of Fatehgarh Sahib.
The clash is said to have taken place between the head priest of the historic Gurdawa and some Sikh Hardliner group named, Satikar Committee.
Actually few days back sacrilege case of some Sikh symbols and things came into the light and ever since the whole town was fuming.
The case under section 295-A of Indian Penal Code (Knowingly Hurting Religious Sentiments of Any Community) was registered against the accused, but they managed to get the bail, escaping the jail time.
Someone in the town blew a speculation that the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has pardoned the accused and has settled the thing outside the court.
This speculation led the ‘Satikar Committee’ into agitating inside the premises of the Gurdwara Sahib.
As per the bystanders, the agitators dropped anchor in front of the office of head priest of Gurdwara, who came out to end this young demonstration.
“They were talking when one thing led to another and they kind of fell into it, after some ambush both parties were broken loose,” said Assistant Inspector, Rupinder Singh.
The head priest of the Sikh temple, Harpal Singh, “They had no business agitating here, we still came to talk to them, we invited them to a table talk, which they refused, and attacked me.”
No police complaint has been filed by the Gurdwara Committee, or the priest himself, as per local police.
