Actor-turned-politician and Gurdaspur’s candidate from BJP Sunny Deol escaped unhurt after the vehicle he was travelling had a tyre burst on the Amritsar-Gurdaspur national Highway.
Police said that after Sunny’s car stopped following tyre burst, four vehicles of his convoy collided with each other.
No one was reported injured in the accident.
The accident took place when Sunny Deol was on his way to a road show. As per sources, Sunny left the spot in another vehicle.
DSP said that Deol resumed his journey to Fatehgarh Churian for poll campaigning after the accident.
Sunny is set to fight against sitting MP and Congress candidate Sunil Jakhar from Gurdaspur constituency in Lok Sabha elections.
Sunny has been hitting the headlines for more than one reason. First is that, he is in high debt as per his affidavit. With a total liability of Rs 51.79 crore, Sunny has due worth Rs 2.49 crore, along with GST dues Rs 1.07 crore to the government.
Last but not the least, when Sunny was asked about the Balakot airstrike, he admitted that he does not know much about the strike or Indo-Pak relations.
