A song rung in my mind when I heard this news first, “It happens only in India”, from hit Hindi movie, Pardesi Babu, a snake was found inside a polling booth of southern Indian, Lok Sabha constituency of Kannur.
Third phase of Lok Sabha elections on Tuesday was going on here, when a voting center in Kannur, Kerala, was disturbed due to a snake appeared suddenly from a VVPAT machine.
Voting stopped for some time due to the snake.
The incident took place in the polling booth situated in the area of Mayil Condki.
At that time a large number of people were present outside the voting center.
However, the snake was soon removed from there and voting at the center resumed after a short while.
The serpent was too small and was hiding in the VVPAT machine, causing the authorities and the voters’ panic.
Current MP from Kannur constituency Surendran (Congress-UDF) and CK Padmanabhan (BJP-NDA) has been trying his luck from there.
