Academic Forum To Mark Guru Nanak’s 550th Birth Anniversary At Surrey
An academic forum will commemorate 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev in Surrey. The forum will be held on 19 July 2019 at 4.30 pm at Westminster Savings Lecture Theatre (Room 2600) SFU (Simon Fraser University) Surrey Campus, 250-13450 102nd Ave. Surrey, British Columbia. Forum is comprised of Dr.Balwant Singh Dhillon, Dr.Harjeet Singh and Grewal Sharanjit Kaur Sandhra, moderated by Dr.ROB Gordon. The event, “Guru Nanak in a Global Context” is presented by World Sikh Organization of Canada (WSO). In commemoration of Guru Nanak’s 550th birth anniversary (Gurpurab), the forum has extended invitation to join them at SFU (Simon Fraser University) Surrey, for discussing and exploring “Guru Nanak in a Global Context”. Guru Nanak Dev was the first guru and founder of Sikh faith. Nanak’s teachings continue to play an essential part in the everyday life of Sikhs around the world.
