Bargari Insaf Morcha has announced their candidates for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
Addressing a press conference in Bathinda, parallel Akal Takht acting Jathedar Dhyan Singh Mand announced United Akali Dal (UAD) general secretary Gurdeep Singh as a candidate from Bathinda, UAD president Bhai Mohkam Singh from Khadoor Sahib, SAD (Amritsar) president and ex-MP Simranjit Singh Mann as the candidate from Sangrur and Bikramjit Singh from Anandpur Sahib parliamentary constituency.
Mand added that the Morcha will enter into alliance with other “like-minded parties” for the rest of the 9 seats, but will not join hands with the SAD-BJP and Congress alliance.
For this, a three-member committee comprising SAD (Amritsar) general secretary Jaskaran Singh Kahan Singh Wala, Satnam Singh Manawa and UAD general secretary Gurdeep Singh, has been formed to hold talks with other parties, including Punjabi Ekta Party, Lok Insaf Party, AAP, BSP and SAD (Taksali).
After Congress ministers Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa promised to fulfill all three demands pertaining to actionagainst those behind desecration incidents and arrest of officials accountable for the two men’s death in police firing at a protest in Behbal Kalan village in Faridkot, Bargari Insaf Morcha’s sit-in protest lasted for 192 days and ended on December 9 last year.
“Our entry into politics marks the second phase of our campaign,” Mand said.
