According to local police, Amitpal Singh died after an altercation with a man staying in the hotel room next to his family.

If convicted of manslaughter Roger Bullman can face up to 15 years in jail.

Bajaj confronted Bullman for making too much noise at 4 am as his wife and son tried to sleep; his family was quoted as saying by the report.

Norwegian had already been warned by hotel security twice that night about the noise coming from his room.

As per reports, Bullman was allegedly under the influence of alcohol.

Bullman then forced his way into their room and strangled Bajaj, his family claimed.

“The fight continued outside the room. Mr. Bullman was bigger and stronger, and had Mr. Bajaj in a hold with his arm across his neck,” said Phuket Tourist Police officer.

Police officers and an ambulance arrived at the scene shortly afterward.

The police found the 34-year-old, Singh bleeding from the nose and mouth.

Amitpal Singh was taken to Phuket’s Patong Hospital, where he died.

The British embassy in Thailand has helped Mr. Bajaj’s wife and son to return back home.

A spokesman for the UK Foreign Office said: ‘We are supporting the family of a British man following his death in Phuket, and are in contact with the Thai authorities.’

On one hand, the Police alleged Mr. Bajaj had taken a steak knife to confront the Norwegian and had stabbed him in the shoulder.

Whereas, Amitpal’s wife Bandhna Kaur Bajaj denied the reports that her husband was holding a knife.

Bandhna said her husband “sacrificed his life” to save her and their son ‘He is a hero’.
