Singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh has been urged by the Indian film body (FWICE) to cancel his upcoming show in the United States.
The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has requested the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to cancel the visa of singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh.
FWICE alleged that the Punjabi singer has accepted the invitation for an event that is being promoted by Rehan Siddiqi, who is of Pakistani origin.
In a letter written to the singer, the film body stated that Diljit should “cancel his commitment in the interest, sentiments, and dignity of the nation”.
Calling Diljit a ‘super artist’ and a thorough gentleman, who is the pride of India, the FWICE requested him to cancel his performance for 21st Sept 2019 in America.
Furthermore, in a letter dated September 3 to the MEA the film body stated, “It is our humble request to you to cancel the vis of Mr. Diljit Dosanjh and his troupe or the application for a visa be not granted to restrain their performance in America as it will be labeled anti-national’.
