Hotstar Breaks World Record from India-New Zealand Semi-Final Clash

India might have lost the ICC Cricket World-Cup semi-final match against New Zealand in the ICC Cricket World Cup, but there was one winner – Premium-streaming platform, Hotstar. One of India’s leading premium streaming platforms, shattered it’s own previous world record and made a new one for live streaming, registering 25.3 million concurrent viewers. This world breaker figure came during the live streaming of India vs New Zealand semi-final on 10th July 2019. “We are excited about, re-writing the world record for the highest concurrent viewership around the globe,” said Varun Narang, Chief Product Officer, Hotstar.   Previously during the VIVO IPL 2019 final, Hotstar made a World Record of 18.6 million concurrent users. It seems like the match was so crucial for the fans that they watched it without blinking an eye. Where on one side whenever India plays on field, the streaming giant always gain profit as earlier in the Cricket World Cup it crossed the milestone of 100 million daily users during the India versus Pakistan match.
