Exploding alcohol still caused a house explosion in Brampton that seriously injured four people, including a one-year-old girl on Tuesday, Peel police say.
The still was found in the semi-detached home’s basement on Herdwick Street, according to a news release published on Thursday morning.
The explosion occurred on Tuesday at about 1:30 pm near Humberwest Parkway and Cottrelle Boulevard.
Brampton Fire Department and Peel Regional Police found four people with minor injuries.
A one-year-old girl received second-degree burns in the explosion, police said.
Two men and a woman suffered minor burns and smoke inhalation, Peel Police added.
All were taken to hospital and remained overnight as a precaution, Peel Regional Police said in a news release.
Meanwhile, authorities are still investigating the scene of the house explosion.
A Brampton man on Wednesday was arrested on arson by negligence charge, police said.
The 57-year-old male was released on a promise to appear.
He is slated to appear in at the Ontario Court of Justice, Brampton at a later date.
