Punjab power exploiters are yet to pay the big amount of Rs 600 core to POWERCOM. The electricity department had been trying hard to collect that money from a long period.
To collect the balance the government has came up with a one-time policy, which will remain in force for six months.
Under this policy, PowerCom officials have decided that consumers who have not paid electricity bills for a long time, will be notified by issuing a prior notice under this policy stating that you have outstanding arrears and action can be taken against in case of non-payment
To provide relief to outstanding consumers, the department will also provide easy installment facility for paying the bills to the bidders during these six months without having to cut off their electricity connection.
Before this policy, the consumer who did not clear their bills had to lose their power connections.
The electricity bill, which is sent to the consumers along with the interest of the last bill payment every month. PowerCom officials say this is an excellent opportunity for consumers to pay their electricity bills in easy installments.
