Punjab CM Expressed Condolence For 2-Year-Old Toddler Who Struggled For 109 Hours

Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh expressed his condolences for the 2-year-old, Fatehveer Singh, who fell into an over 120 feet borewell on June 6, Thursday.

Captain tweeted, “Very sad to hear about the tragic death of young Fatehveer. I pray that Waheguru grants his family the strength to bear this huge loss,” he wrote. He also said he has sought from all the deputy commissioners in the state “so that such terrible accidents can be prevented in the future”.

Last evening after 5 days, amid protests by locals over rescue of the child, Chief Minister Amarinder Singh tweeted that he was “constantly monitoring the rescue operations” by the NDRF, local administration and outside experts.

The chief minister was also taken down by opposition parties over delay in the rescue. Sangrur MP and AAP’s Punjab unit chief Bhagwant Mann, who had also visited the site, had accused the Amarinder Singh-government of “inordinate delay” in the rescue operation in a statement.

Earlier, Punjab CM’s words came on twitter on the 5th day of reuse mission for Fatehveer as he tweeted, “Have directed all DCs to ensure that no such open borewell exists in any of the districts & have asked them to submit a report within 24 hours. You can call on our helpline number 0172-2740397 if you have information about any such open borewells in your area.”
