Punjab Women Commission Demands Ban On Yo Yo Honey Singh’s Song

Popular Punjabi rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh has again courted a controversy for the objectionable lyrics of his song.

Taking suo moto notice of the issue, the Punjab State Women Commission Chairperson, Manisha Gulati has written a letter to the Punjab Director General of Police and Inspector General Crime, Punjab, proposing strict action against the singer.

The Punjab State Women Commission Chairperson has alleged that Yo Yo Honey Singh is using vulgar lyrics in his new song.

Referring to the lyrics like “Mein hoon womaniser (I am a womaniser)” and ‘Silicon wali ladkiyon ko mein pakadta nahi’ from Honey Singh’s song “Makhna”, Manisha express her disapproval and asked DGP, Punjab to register a criminal case against the singer.

In her application, Gulati has not just mentioned Honey Singh but also demanded a legal action and inquiry on Bhushan Kumar, the Chairman of music record label T-series.

Demanding a prohibition on the song, Manisha said the song is viral on social media and is “indecent and have a degrading influence on society”.
