A couple from Punjab travelled from Switzerland to India via 20 countries on a bicycle over six months.
Jaskaran Singh and his wife Parine Solam cycled 8,000 kilometres to return to their hometown, Bassi Pathana in Punjab.
The couple took six months to return to India and even stayed in certain places for a brief period.Jaskaran said that when he used to travel to India via plane, he often wondered about the food, culture and religion of the counties he passed. As travelling shrinks from multiple days to few hours on a plane.
He always had a desire to know the difference between food and culture differences from Punjab and that is why he started a cycling trip from Switzerland to Punjab on 16 April 2019.
Singh said that Pakistan did not give him a visa approval for more than 14 days and many strict conditions were also imposed with it.
Therefore, the couple had to come to India via Nepal instead of Wagah border.
Parine said that she is thrilled to be in India, and the journey was a full challenge.
