Former AAP (Aam Adami Party) minister and disqualified MLA Kapil Mishra joined the BJP in New Delhi on Saturday.
Along with Mishra, the chief of AAP women’s wing Richa Pandey too joined Bharatiya Janata Party.
BJP national vice president Shyam Jaju and Delhi unit chief Manoj Tiwari welcomed the duo at the party’s office on Pant Marg.
“I welcome Kapil Mishra and Richa Pandey into BJP and hope they will serve Delhi by following the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and philosophy of Deen Dayal Upadhyay and Syama Prasad Mookerjee,” Tiwari said.

During the Lok Sabha elections in May, Mishra campaigned for the BJP.
For this reason, Delhi Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel disqualified Mishra under the anti-defection law earlier this month.
Elected from Karawalnagar seat, Mishra has challenged his disqualification in High Court of Delhi.
Speculations over Mishra joining the BJP mounted from the time when he began to criticize the AAP supremo, Arvind Kejriwal.
Arvind Kejriwal removed Mishra as a minister in May 2017.
Mishra subsequently grew close to Delhi BJP leaders and shared the stage with them at public events.
