TELUS Communications last month introduced a promotion, which allowed consumers to have more data for an affordable price.
The Canadian telecom giant at the time announced a new 15 GB for $75 per month plan, that ran as a timed promotion.
The news came after Rogers Wireless Inc on June 12 introduced its Infinite plan, which provides ‘unlimited’ wireless data.
Rogers Infinite plans start at $75 for 10GB of high-speed data for every line on LTE network. After consuming this 10GB data, customers can use the rest of their unlimited data at reduced speeds
Moreover, Rogers said it would be launching “new financing options giving customers more affordable smartphone and device opportunities,” details of which were released on Wednesday.
“When your data never ends, the fun never stops. Introducing our new Peace of Mind Plans – now you never have to worry about going over. http://www.telus.com/peaceofmind #PeaceOfMind #CustomersFirst,” wrote TELUS on its official Twitter handle.

Now, TELUS has introduced its unlimited data plan with $0 upfront “on every single phone.”
“All devices start at $0 with TELUS Easy Payment, and our new Peace of Mind Plans offer endless data with no overage charges,” reads TELUS’ website.
The Easy Payment “provides customers with clear, simple, affordable and fair choices for how to purchase a device,” according to TELUS.
TELUS says that there are two components to this payment plan.
“Monthly Easy Payment Charge: The Easy Payment Balance (i.e. month-to-month price less Upfront Amount) is divided into 24 equal amounts to be repaid monthly as part of the customer’s bill at 0% interest. Upfront Amount: This is the amount the customer pays at the time of the purchase, plus applicable taxes,” stated TELUS.
