Former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has passed away at the age of 81 after her health deteriorated Saturday morning.
Delhi Congress president breathed her last at around 3:30 pm at Escorts Heart Hospital in Delhi.
Dikshit was unwell for the last few months, her family told reporters.
Born in 1938, Dikshit served as Chief Minister of Delhi for three terms from 1998 to 2013.
In January this year, Dikshit succeeded Ajay Maken as Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president after Ajay resigned citing ill health.
